In recent years, I’ve jazzed up my sensory bin with a wild mix of goodies, including colored macaroni, pinto beans, rock salt, Easter grass , and water. However, I was initially hesitant about using rainbow rice. Most colored rice relies on food coloring for dyeing. Food coloring and I have a rocky relationship, but then I struck gold! Liquid watercolor to the rescue! This allows you to dye your pasta or rice without the troublesome additives like alcohol or other chemicals. Easy peasy! (You can snag some from Oriental Trading Co.)
