I am absolutely head over heels for using and teaching with the delightful Jan Brett Books! This author-illustrator extraordinaire has my little learners swooning over her tales. My top two faves? “The Hat” and “The Mitten,” of course! Check out my PICTURE BOOK ACTIVITIES to jazz up these stories. They not only sharpen those academic skills but are also ready to roll with hardly any prep—talk about a win-win!

Penguins

Bears, Bears, OH MY!!

Certainly, winter wouldn’t feel complete without incorporating bear-themed books into your kindergarten curriculum. My top recommendations are “Brown Bear, Brown Bear” and “Bear Snores On.” Little learners adore these stories, making them ideal for January’s winter read-aloud sessions.
