November is among my favorite months for teaching. It’s filled with Thanksgiving and turkey-themed activities, along with pumpkins and a spirit of gratitude. Here are my 3 Must-Have November Activities for Your Little Learners.
November Literacy Activities
I love incorporating read-aloud sessions along with intentional activities that offer literacy practice for my kindergarten students. (Though there are two items mentioned below, this will be my first Must-Have for November.)
Picture Book Activity Packs
Picture books are pure MAGIC captured on paper! Incorporating picture books into the classroom is invaluable. Not only do little learners benefit from your reading, but you can also link them to a wide array of standards, concepts, and skills, all while aligning with various themes. Now, let’s enhance the picture books shared with your little learners by integrating engaging and meaningful activities to complement them.
November Math Activity
This Pumpkin Pie Number Representations Game features an array of Pumpkin Pie math ‘game boards’ complemented by various number representation cards.
This game is versatile and can be used individually, with a partner, or in small groups. Students will select a number representation card. Then they can use Pom-poms or cotton balls to mimic whipped cream while decorating their pumpkin pie game board.
November Literacy and Math Bundle
My final Must-Have activity for November is the Literacy and Math Bundle. Includes 9 different literacy and 10 different math activities.
Now your little learners can learn and practice their academic skills with these 3 themed activities Wishing you a wonderful November and a Happy Thanksgiving!
