Technology in kindergarten can be a topic of debate among educators. Most of the public schools are implementing some sort of technology into the classrooms. Whether you love or hate having your little learners use computers, the digital age is here to stay. There are now kindergarten standards that include technology. Now- let’s explore the Pros and Cons of Technology In Kindergarten.
In today’s digital age of laptops, I phones, Ipads and computer screens, our kindergarten students often arrive to their first day of school with superior tech skills. They often already know how to navigate a computer keyboard and screen. Just go to a store or restaurant and you will find an adult handing some device to a child. These same children who have superior tech skills, may not know how to hold a pencil or how to use scissors. It is now up to us to instruct our little learners on how to use all of the school supplies!!!
