Shapes are everywhere. Young children need to learn and recognize these shapes. How do you teach shape recognition to your students? Here are a few activities for Teaching Shapes To Little Learners that I have found to be intentional, fun, and effective.
2D Shape Playdough Mats
These amazing playdough mats are perfect for your littles learners. Not only do they get practice making shapes out of fun playdough, but this activity also helps hone fine motor skills. Research has shown that when body movements are including in the learning process, the brain connections are strengthened and therefore, students retain the information better. Playdough mat activities are fun, meaningful and your little learners will love this shape activity.
