Check out these Alphabet Tactile Tracing Pages for Small Group Guided Reading Kinesthetic cards! According to research, having students use their finger to trace letters (without writing materials) is imperative for building muscle memory trace for each letter. This helps students to make the proper formation, which will then translate into their actual writing (with writing tools) of each letter. (Read Jan Richardson’s book, The Next Step Forward in Guided Reading for more information on this concept.)
I have included a large, standard font for each upper and lowercase letter. Each page also includes the beginning sound picture, which is also imperative for mastering letter names and sounds.
I included 2 different versions for the letters g and s. The reason for this is that it is recommended that students have beginning sound picture that don’t have a blend, so they can hear the beginning sound more clearly.

S = star or sun
X = x-ray or boX
