Alphabet Soup by Scrabble
“What is this?” “Where can I get one?” and “How can I use this in my small group sessions?” These are some of the most common questions I receive about the tools I share for small groups. I aim to address all these queries and provide suggestions on incorporating them into your kindergarten small group sessions. Keep reading!
The game in question is the fantastic “Alphabet Soup” by Scrabble. I bought it several years ago at Wal-Mart on clearance (hooray for great deals!). It is still available, and you can purchase it HERE.
The Scrabble Alphabet Soup game includes a bowl with all the scoops and letter tiles, making it self-contained (no need to worry about losing the bag or box).
This game offers versatile uses for various learning activities. It allows little learners to practice letter identification, letter sounds, CVC words, and even constructing CVC words using matching picture cards. Ideal for small group sessions, but can also be incorporated into literacy stations, partner practice, or individual practice. A valuable addition to any kindergarten classroom.
