When I find a themed activity I like, I want it for the whole year. This makes it easier on me to fill my various stations in my classroom, have activities ready at the snap of a finger and honestly it reduces the stress of planning and prepping! Well, this Count and Match Mats set is one of the most highly requested resources I have created. There are 11 different themes, one for each month (besides July). WHAT? Yep!

Count & Match Mats

This is a COMPLETE BUNDLE of 11 months of themed Count & Match Number Sense for numbers 1-30. Use these adorable counting mats, along with the bonus addition mat in your math stations or morning buckets. This is the perfect independent, partner, or small group activity. Focuses on one-to-one correspondence and matching objects to numerals. You can differentiate by using the higher number mats or adding in the addition/subtraction mats.

Standards Focused On

Represent addition and subtraction with objects, fingers, mental images, drawings, sounds (e.g., claps), acting out situations, verbal explanations, expressions, or equations.

Understand that each successive number name refers to a quantity that is one larger.

When counting objects, say the number names in the standard order, pairing each object with one and only one number name and each number name with one and only one object.

Understand the relationship between numbers and quantities; connect counting to cardinality.

Write numbers from 0 to 20. Represent a number of objects with a written numeral 0-20 (with 0 representing a count of no objects).

Count forward beginning from a given number within the known sequence (instead of having to begin at 1).

1Count to 100 by ones and by tens.
